About the Houdini Taxi Booking App
Our client from Fort Myers, Florida, USA wanted to develop an online taxi booking app to solve the issues faced by the local people there. The local people couldn’t find a cab whenever they needed it the most. He was resolute to build an on-demand taxi app for people to book a comfortable ride instantly.
Our adept taxi app developers were quick to understand the needs of the client and developed an entire taxi booking solution with exclusive features and functionalities. This taxi solution is complete with the rider’s app, driver’s app and admin panel. Riders can book a taxi, drivers can accept or reject booking requests and admin is enabled to handle all the operations with this taxi dispatch software.
Features of the Houdini Ride-share App
Vehicle Tracking
The rider can select the type of car while booking with this cab booking app and also track where the driver is and when he will reach at the pickup point. After booking, the rider will receive information about the car model and number along with the driver’s details so that the user doesn’t get in the wrong vehicle.
Schedule a Ride
The rider’s app of this taxi dispatch app lets the users decide if they want to take a ride immediately or schedule it for some time later in the future. The users can book a ride on-demand or can book one in advance. This way they will save time and won’t have to wait for a ride when they need it.
Preferred Driver
Using this feature, a user can mark any driver as a preferred driver. Suppose, a rider rides with a driver and has a pleasant experience. He can mark this driver as preferred or favourite. Now, whenever this user books a ride,the request would first go to this preferred driver if he is in the same vicinity.
SOS Contacts
Considering the safety of the customers as well as the driver, we integrated the feature of SOS contacts to the ride-share app. The ride-hailing app allows saving 5 contacts in the SOS contacts list. In case of an emergency, the user can hit the SOS button and his location details will be sent to these 5 contacts.
Feedback
The riders can give their feedback about their experience with the driver as well as the app usage. The riders can give reviews and ratings to the drivers according to the service they received. This feedback helps other users while booking a ride and admin to monitor the driver’s performance.
Payment Gateway Integration
We have also made the payment process digital and cashless. The rider can pay using his debit or credit card and can save multiple cards in the account to make the transactions faster. We have also integrated the Stripe payment gateway into this ride-share app, so users don’t have to put in information multiple times.
Manage Rides
The driver can manage all his rides using the taxi driver app. The driver can accept or reject the request depending on his availability. He can keep a track of all his past, active and upcoming rides. The driver can also cancel a trip if there is a need to.
Revenue Reports
The drivers get a complete trip summary like the number of trips, trip routes, and trip fare for every ride. After the predetermined admin commission is subtracted, the driver dispatch app generates revenue reports on a weekly basis.
Notifications
The drivers get notifications about new requests from the riders. They also get updates from the admin regarding new policies or changes in old ones. Drivers also get notified about ratings and reviews they receive from riders to keep track of performance.
Multiple Cars
If a driver has more than one car, he has an option to add multiple vehicles to his profile. Before starting the day’s journey, he just needs to select the car he is taking so that he gets requests according to his car type.
User Management
The admin can assign sub-admins so that they can manage different segments of this taxi booking software. The admin can assign different cities to different users and grant access to accounts, dashboards, drivers, riders to the same or different users.
Manual Dispatch
This feature lets the admin accept requests from customers who don’t have an app but still request a cab through calls, hotel receptions or wherever the company has installed cab request screens. The rides are managed by sending SMSs with the ride details.
Generate Reports
The admin can generate weekly and monthly financial reports. The admin can manage the commission rates, view online and working hours of the drivers so he can decide the incentive. He can also export these reports in different file formats.
Fare Management
The admin decides the fare that has to be taken from the riders. The fare depends on the route, area, distance, time of day and type of car chosen for the trip. In fact, the admin can increase or decrease the fare according to the demand of the cabs.
Fleet of Drivers
The admin can see details of his entire fleet of drivers on a map. The admin can check which drivers are offline, online, occupied, or arriving to pick up a customer. In fact, he can see the location and name of the driver, and notify him to go online or send any updates.
